11 years ago, I was a tired, caffeine propelled, stressed out kid, fresh out of junior college with an AA and a declared major in International Relations. The prospect of another 2 years at a University was less than appealing to me, so I did what any overworked, burnt out, creative 18 year old would do—I quit life and ran away with the circus.

No, Really.

I quickly discovered my parents were right…living and working as a traveling magician’s assistant—though certainly interesting— was going to require some sort of supplemental income.
I hadn’t a clue what kind of job I should pursue and I felt like all the hard work I had put into my education still left me coming up short when it came to college credits somehow equating being prepared for any sort of career or direction in life.

I was facing what just about every young student goes through, but it was daunting nonetheless. Through all of this doubt and confusion, one quick image of me working as a floral designer kept popping in to my head, almost involuntarily. I didn’t know where this image was coming from— I had never even been in a flower shop!

Call it the voice of the universe, divine intervention, cognitive suggestion, or just dumb luck… I woke up one day and decided to pursue a career in floral design and, at the risk of sounding cliché: “The rest is history”!

While I may still be a tired, caffeine propelled, and stressed out kid, in the last 10 years, I’ve been blessed to have that little spark of interest for the floral industry grow into what I can only describe as true love. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to share this passion with thousands of clients and I would love the opportunity to share it with you!
